TERRIFIC RESOURCE: Parents, please remind your students about the college and career resources found in our "Testing and Education Resource Center" database. In this database, students have access to practice tests for: PSAT, SAT, SAT II, CAHSEE, AP exams, and many more. This database also provides various helpful resources, varying from finding a good college, to finding a summer job. To access this database, click on the link: SSHS Databases and then click on the Testing & Education Reference Center database. Contact a librarian if you need the password for this resource. ​This resource is extremely valuable for any parents who may be job searching, too.

Book Expert Online

Click on the icon above to access this resource. At this site, students can access the full Reading Counts e-catalog. Students can determine if we have a test for any book for any book they would like to read. They can also check to see how many points the book is worth.

Note: Please remind students to be sure the book has an interest level 6-8 or higher.

Senior Library Legacy Program:

Parents of seniors: Consider purchasing a book in your senior's honor. This book will display the name of your son/daughter and remain in the library for year's to come. See details below:

​Strong school libraries play a key role in preparing students for the demands of 21st century learning. At SSHS, our teacher-librarian collaborates with classroom teachers to ensure that our students:
  • have access to quality reading and research materials
  • learn information and digital literacy skills
  • are savvy researchers who are able to use advanced search techniques to find reputable Internet research
  • understand digital citizenship and online safety
  • know how to use 21st century web tools
  • are able to find, evaluate, and integrate information in a variety of formats
